Can anyone order online or shop at Engaging Minds?
Yes! We believe that everyone involved in a child’s life plays a vital role in their development and learning. There are no limits with regards to who can order from our website or shop at Engaging Minds for Learning; whether you are a principal, teacher, parent, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, grandparent, aunt, uncle, dayhome provider, homeschooling family or anyone with a love for good, quality educational products at an affordable price!
How does your pricing work?
All prices on our website are in Canadian funds and do not include taxes or shipping, which will be applied at the time of checkout.
Which taxes will be applied onto my purchase?
All orders are subject to 5% Good and Services Tax (GST). Provincial Sales Tax (PST) & Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) are not charged on any shipments.
How much do you charge for Shipping & Handling?
Our orders are shipped through Canada Post, Canpar, FedEx or UPS. Minimum charge for shipping & handling in Canada is $10.00 or 10% of your subtotal, whichever is greater. Orders to the United States are shipped through UPS ground parcel service or FedEx. Minimum charge for shipping to the US is $15.00 or 15% of your subtotal, whichever is greater. Some items, including furniture, carpets or other large items, may have an icon that indicates additional shipping charges may apply. These items will require additional freight charges and you will be contacted with a shipping quote before the order is shipped. Any additional shipping will then be charged to your credit card before the order leaves our warehouse. For your convenience, you can see your shipping charges during checkout, excluding freight on larger items, before submitting your order.

Can I place my order over the phone?
Yes, if you feel more comfortable placing your order over the phone, you can do so by calling 1-403-488-9070. You can also print off an order form off our website and fax it in to 1-403-488-9071. We do recommend ordering online as the fastest and most efficient way to shop for the best educational products, but we would be happy to help you over the phone as well!
How do I know my order was submitted and will be received after I place an order online?
After you place an order online, we will verify with your credit card company that the credit card is valid and we’ll send you an email to let you know that the order was received with a confirmation number. This email will include your confirmation number, order summary with items ordered and the price, and confirmation of the billing and shipping information you provided. If you have any questions or don’t receive an order confirmation within 24 hours, call us at 1-403-488-9070 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How can I track my order?
When your order is shipped, a confirmation email will be sent to you via email with a Canada Post or Canpar tracking number. There will be a link on the email to the appropriate carrier’s website and you can use the tracking number on your email to conveniently track your package online.
When will I receive my order?
This largely depends on stock availability. If your items are in stock, you can expect for your order to be processed and leave our store within 2-3 business days after placing your order. If an item is currently on backorder, it will typically be processed and shipped to you within 2 to 3 weeks after you place the order online, provided the manufacturers have the items in stock. Depending on your location, it can take approximately an additional 3-7 business days for you to receive your order after it leaves our site. Please indicate any special requests with the order and feel free to contact us with any questions. We will email you if we anticipate any additional delays with your order.
Can I submit an order online and pick it up at the store?
Yes, when you place an order online, you may choose to have it shipped or set the order for pick it up at the store in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Depending on stock availability, please allow time for us to pull the order, especially during our busy seasons as this may take a day or two for all items that are in-stock. If an item is not in-stock, it may take 2-3 weeks for your order to be ready for pick-up. We will call or email you when your complete order is ready for pick-up, and you must pick up the order within 21 days of notification that your order is ready. If your order is not picked up within 21 days and we have not heard from you, we will ship the order to you and you will be charged the extra shipping amount. If you are not able to make it to the store within 21 days, please call us at 1-403-488-9070 or send an email to email@example.com. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Are all items on this website in stock?
No. With over 30,000 different items available to be ordered on our website, we cannot have everything in stock. If you order an item that is not in stock, we will order it in from our manufacturers’ warehouse and you can typically expect for us to receive it, process it, and have it leave our store on its way to you within 2-3 weeks. This may differ for some items including furniture, customized or specialty items.
Do you accept purchase orders?
We do accept purchase orders; however this may slightly delay your order as a credit account will first need to be established. All purchase orders must be authorized over the phone and must have a purchase order number. We will invoice the school, daycare or homeschooling board separately. All individual orders placed online must be prepaid either by Visa, MasterCard or PayPal. Please phone us at 1-403-488-9070 for more information.
What forms of payment do you accept online or in the store?
We accept Visa, MasterCard or PayPal for all online orders, and cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard or Purchase Orders for all orders in the store.
Can I return or exchange something?

Can you send me a catalogue?
Our website was designed to have the most up-to-date product list with Canadian prices, but if you would also like a set of the suppliers’ catalogues that we have, we would be happy to mail these to you. There is a $5.00 shipping charge which can be prepaid online. Simply fill out our catalogue request form on our website, prepay the $5.00 shipping charge with a credit card and you should receive the catalogues in 5-7 business days. Catalogues can always be picked up at the store anytime as well. Just ask us for a set on your next visit!
What happens when your price for an item in the store differs from the price online?
When a customer brings this to our attention within 7 days of their purchase, the lower price of the item will be honored and an in-store credit will be issued. This will exclude sale items, unless the online sale price was effective on the date of the online purchase.
Will you have any online sales?
Any in-store and/or online sales will often be posted on the front page of our website. Be sure to check back often, but we will also send out an email to our existing customers who subscribed for our e-newsletters with the details as well. There may be times where we will have an in-store sale which will not be published on our website. Be sure you get the most up-to-date information and sign-up for our e-newsletter today!
Do you price match any other educational stores websites?
Generally speaking, we are already very competitive and comparable with our pricing in-store and online with other online educational, toy and game stores. Our shipping rates are also very reasonable. If you have a large order with multiple items, or multiple quantities of the same item that you’d like to place either in-store or online for a school, dayhome or daycare around or over $1000.00, we are open to working with you on this and may potentially be able to offer you a potential discount. We suggest for you to call us with your order first, before submitting it online. Any discounts on such orders will require an authorization number first, and no refunds or changes to the order will be made after the fact, or after the order is placed.
Is there a minimum order amount?
No, we don’t believe in setting a minimum order amount; however, please keep in mind that there is a minimum shipping charge of $10.00 in Canada and $15.00 to the United States.
I’m looking for something in particular and I can’t seem to find it on your website?
Believe it or not, with over 30,000 different items already on our website, we still have the ability to order in more! Some suppliers’ lines are not listed on our website, so don’t feel bad asking. If you can’t seem to find what you’re looking for, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you if and when we are able to order it in. New items, new lines and new suppliers are added to our website all the time, so check back to engagingminds.ca often!
